Hi there, I’m Jess and I’ve been doing photography for 12 years now. I strive to capture the authentic, candid moments while having fun. I lean towards a journalistic approach, but I’m still hands on and give direction.
I’ve recently added film to my packages and I could not be more excited! I have been shooting film for years now on National Park adventures, and I’m finally ready to merge my personal passion with my public business.
After having my first child in 2021, I don’t want to waste any time not doing what I love. I want to walk away from your wedding or session knowing I captured a little piece of your life in that very moment. I feel film can do just that. As a photographer it makes me slow down and appreciate every frame for what it’s worth. I hope it can make you slow down and appreciate all the small things as well!
I am located outside of Columbus, Ohio but have shot weddings in Arizona, California, Colorado, Michigan, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Education
I received my bachelor’s degree in Commercial Photography from Ohio University’s Scripps College of Communication, in the School of Visual Communication.
Experience
After graduation I worked as a retoucher, digital tech, and freelance photographer at multiple fashion brands and photo studios; DSW, Victoria’s Secret, Splashlight, Bath & Body Works, Abercrombie & Fitch. In 2017 I quit my full time job and relaunched my own photography business. I’ve been self employed full time for 6 years now, and have photographed over 80 weddings in my 12 years of experience.
Travel
In addition to my out of state weddings, I’ve traveled to 22 National Parks so far. It’s a yearly adventure for me, and I have dreams to start photographing weddings in our nation’s beautiful locations!
